As our business has continued to grow, it has been difficult to fill positions in our machine shop. Working with Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) and the community partners has allowed us to expand our candidate pool – easily and cost effectively.
Our relationship with VRS and the community partners has been beneficial for JEM. I just send a short email or make a quick call to let them know about our job openings. Then, they advertise positions through their networks for free!
We’ve been able to interview several candidates through the VRS referrals, and ultimately hired an intern and two employees. Then, we rely on the expertise of the employment specialists and job coaches to ensure the employment relationship is a win-win for everyone.
