As part of their regional planning efforts, the state’s local Workforce Development Boards (WDBs) have been taking a much closer look at the racial and ethnic diversity of their regions. This includes analysis of each area’s changing demographics, increasing labor force tightness, and industry employment trends. Data show that every region’s population is becoming more racially and ethnically diverse over time, which is also reflected in the workforce.
The tool below provides employment and wage data for Minnesota and each of the 16 WDB areas from DEED’s and the U.S. Census Bureau’s Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) program, which provides details on employees through combined federal and state data. Users can select their geography, industry, race, and ethnicity to see current data and recent trends.
