2021 Awards
The Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) Program funds were awarded to five projects:
Dayton - $1,000,000
This project will assist with construction of a four-lane divided highway linking the new interchange on Interstate 94 to the central part of Dayton. I-94 in this part of the state is one of the busiest freeways in the state (95,000 vehicles per day). The new interchange will provide a new option for traffic that currently goes through the very busy Highway 101 interchange. The project will assist in creating and retaining 1,455 jobs in the area at businesses like Graco, Inc., CRG, Zeigler CAT, ICA Corporation, King Solutions, and others. Tax base increase is estimated at $134 million in five years. Total cost of the public infrastructure project is estimated to be $4.57 million.
Chaska - $487,600
This project will assist with construction of roadway and sewer along Creek Road to allow full build-out of the 360 acre Southwest Chaska Business Park. The project estimates 5,906 new jobs and a tax base increase of $46 million in the next 5 years. Oppidan, a developer, has committed to the first development of a $10.5 million building that will create 301 jobs. The total cost of the infrastructure project is $14.2 million.
Renville County - $200,000
This project will assist with reconstructing 3 miles of roadway that will primarily serve the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, Renville County's largest employer. The project will create a wider concrete roadway that will increase safety for the roadway that has high truck traffic. The cooperative is planning a $175 million expansion. Businesses along the reconstructed road will create or retain 642 jobs and estimate a tax base increase of $40 million in five years. Total cost of the public infrastructure project is $2,840,900.
McLeod County - $750,000
The project will extend County Road 5 through a business park in Winsted. The project will expand and provide better access to the existing business park. The expansion will provide 120 additional acres in the park and provide better access to existing businesses such as Millerbernd Manufacturing and RAM. Those two businesses will retain and create 625 jobs and increase tax base by $28 million in 5 years. Total cost of the public infrastructure project is $3 million.
Big Stone County - $462,400
This project will assist with construction of a roadway that will allow trucks direct access to Highway 75 and bypass residential streets in Clinton. The project will primarily serve CHS, Big Stone Lumberyard, and the Wheaton Dumont Co-op Elevator. The Elevator was destroyed by a fire in 2021. The businesses will create or retain 35 jobs and increase tax base by $1.5 million in 5 years. The total cost of the roadway will be $732,000.

2019 Awards
The Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) Program funds were awarded to three projects:
Minneapolis - $1,000,000
This project will assist with the realignment and reconstruction of Dowling Avenue. Dowling Avenue will be the main entrance to the Upper Harbor Terminal Redevelopment Project. The redevelopment project is a large plan to turn 48 acres of riverfront land into housing, businesses and an outdoor performance venue. The Dowling Avenue project has a projected total cost of $4,090,000. The proposal speculates that 359 jobs will be created in 5 years and the increase in tax base would be $50 million.
Mankato - $911,669
This project will extend Adams Street east of County Road 12 to provide access for development of 73 acres adjacent to Highway 14. Multiple trucking related business are committed to developing on a portion of the property and propose to create and retain 154 full-time jobs. Total projected cost of the infrastructure project is $1,987,444. The application estimates $26.6 million in private investment in the area.
Sherburne County - $950,000
This project will assist with reconstruction and expansion of County Road 53. The road would provide improved access to the proposed Google Data Center project and the Becker Business Park. Google proposes to create 50 jobs and invest $600 million on the site. Total cost of the infrastructure project is $1,500,000.

2017 Awards
The Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) Program funds were awarded to four projects:
Brooklyn Park - $1,500,000
This project will construct a new interchange at US Highway 169 and 101st Avenue North. The interchange would improve access to Target headquarters, Wurth Adams, Nilfisk, Perbix, Reliable Medical Supply, Takeda, Southern Graphics and other businesses. The project will create 2,549 jobs and retain 10,237 jobs within 5 years. The project is also receiving $10,000,000 from the MnDOT Transportation Economic Development (TED) Program. Total cost of the project is $37,000,000.
Chaska - $650,000
The project will construct a new local street in downtown Chaska that will provide better access to a redevelopment area. The street is needed due to reconstruction of Highway 61 that will remove accesses to the businesses. Businesses assisted are Cooper Foods, Java Companies, Alliance Contracting, a proposed restaurant, and office/commercial space. The project would create 72 jobs and retain 53 jobs within 5 years. Total cost of the project is $1,080,000.
Pennington County - $1,000,000
The project will construct a new alternative route around Thief River Falls that would allow faster truck transportation to Digi-Key and Artic Cat. The current route required trucks to travel through the downtown area and sit for extended periods at a rail crossing. The project will create 500 new jobs and retain 3,700 jobs at Digi-Key in the next 5 years. MnDOT TED program is also contributing $1,000,000 to the project. Total cost of the project is $5,770,000.
Duluth - $1,100,000
The project will construct an extension of Waseca Industrial Park Road. The project will replace a railroad crossing that is being closed and provide better access for trucks to Highway 23 without driving through a residential neighborhood and an elementary school. Businesses assisted include Verso, IPS Crane, North Shore Track Services, Moline Machinery, and Loll Designs. The project will create 351 jobs and retain 269 jobs within 5 years. Total project cost is $2,280,993.

2015 Awards
The Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) Program funds were awarded to four projects:
Wells - $147,800
The project will provide two turn lanes off of TH 22 and will develop an internal road and infrastructure for a new business park. The project consists of two 300-foot right turn lanes on TH 22 and constructing the internal road system for the business park consisting of a 40' wide paved urban 10 ton roadway. The City of Wells has filled existing business park areas available for development and local business desiring to expand are unable to do so at their current location. Based on an assumption of 10 employees per acre, the City estimates a total of 190 jobs upon full build out of the area. The project will add 30 total new jobs in two years and 140 in five years with five of the eight parcels developed. The total estimated cost of this project is about $4.2 million. MnDOT's Transportation Economic Development (TED) Program also awarded $147,800 to this project.
Mankato - $813,233
The project will extend Adams Street from Roosevelt Circle to CSAH 12 and will provide access to 170 acres of industrial land adjacent to US Hwy 14 and secondary access to a main commercial/retail center. The project consists for 3400' of new roadway and a new roundabout at an existing intersection. The new roundabout and the secondary access to the TH 22 would greatly improve capacity and safety in the area and the Adams street connection will connect with the new CSAH 12 and the new CSAH 22 and US Hwy 14 interchange. Recent industrial park development in the area has been absorbed quickly and it is expected that these new parcels would be developed soon creating as many as 367 new jobs in five years. The total estimated cost of this project is $5.73 million.
Princeton - $689,500
This project includes the installation of a roundabout on TH 95 and County Road 157 (21st Avenue) in Princeton. This roundabout will reduce the number of high-speed crashes and increase highway capacity on TH 95. The 21st Avenue corridor serves as direct access to the Aero Business Park and the Princeton Public Safety Building. The request also includes funds for infrastructure and park expansion and the completion of a 1.9 mile paved multi-modal trail loop around an existing commercial and retail area. Nine businesses have been identified for location and expansion in the Princeton Business Center and the Aero Business Park with employment growing from 650 jobs two years after completion to 900 jobs after five years. Total project cost is $5.07 million. MnDOT’s TED Program also awarded $110,187 to the project.
St. John’s Township - $409,579
This project will upgrade 2 miles of First Avenue West which is currently a minimum maintenance road and will provide access to Meadow Star Dairy, a large dairy operation with more than 8,000 cows. Currently the road is rated for a 5 ton capacity and is 20' wide road. Improvements to the road will include an upgrade to a 10 ton capacity "all weather" road that will be 28' wide. Other enhancements include improved site lines that are safety issue for converging traffic. The dairy will produce seven semi-truck loads of milk a day and will be serviced by a high volume of large trucks and employee vehicles operating 24 hours a day. Meadow Start will create 52 jobs in the first two years. A private sector contribution to the project is valued at $399,963. Total project cost is $839,963.

2013 Awards
No Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) Program funds were awarded, however was awarded through the MnDOT Transportation Economic Development (TED) Program. Funding was awarded for projects in Waconia, Minneapolis, Olmsted County, and Le Sueur.

2012 Awards
Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) grants were awarded to four communities.
International Falls - $657,000
Plans call for installation of utilities and a rail spur to the multi-modal district, which is located adjacent to the busiest rail port of entry in North America. The district is ideal for warehousing, distribution, assembly, processing and light manufacturing. Mariner Farms LLC signed a development agreement with the International Falls EDA and will be the first tenant. It is projected the district will create 50 jobs within five years. Total project cost: $957,400.
Rice County - $673,782
The county will reconstruct 2.1 miles of County Road 76/Acorn Trail to improve access to developable properties north of the Faribault city limits along Interstate 35. The project will also improve access to the Northern Industrial Park in Faribault. Officials estimate that 150 jobs will be created in the first two years and 300 jobs within five years after the project is completed. Total project cost: $2.9 million.
Mankato - $969,218
The funding will pay for road and utility improvements in Eastwood Energy Industrial Park. After the improvements, about 160 jobs are expected to be created within two years and about 470 jobs within five years. Total project cost: $1.4 million.
Delano - $640,000
Highway infrastructure improvements are planned in support of a new industrial park. Randy's Environmental Services will add 30 jobs immediately. Other businesses will create an additional 100 to 150 jobs within two years and 400 to 500 jobs within five years. Total project cost: $6.1 million.
In total, fourteen highway improvement and infrastructure projects in Minnesota received approval for $25.5 million in funding through TED, other DEED programs, and the MnDOT Transportation Economic Development (TED) Program.
Funding was awarded for projects in Windom, Mille Lacs County, International Falls, Rice County, Mankato, Delano, Ramsey County, Eden Prairie, Maplewood, St. Louis Park, Rochester, Benton County, Jackson and Minnetonka.

2011 Awards
No Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) funds were awarded. However, MnDOT Transportation Economic Development (TED) and other DEED funds were awarded to 11 highway improvement and infrastructure projects for nearly $33 million in funding.
Preliminary funding was awarded to projects in Aitkin County, Bloomington, Hennepin County, Marshall, Perham, St. Charles, St. Cloud, Stewartville, Two Harbors, Worthington and Zumbrota.
