COVID-19 Disaster Recovery National Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG)

The purpose of this National Disaster Grant is to provide disaster-relief and humanitarian assistance employment, as well as employment and training services, as appropriate, to minimize the employment and economic impact of COVID-19. The funds will be used to serve Dislocated Workers and pay the wage and benefits for temporary disaster-relief employment. As the state continues to open-up, employers have a great need for workers to assist individuals impacted by COVID-19 and/or conduct services and activities to maintain the health and safety of the community.

Budget

This program is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Labor in the amount of $2,535,795 through June 30, 2022.

256 Dislocated Workers; 156 in Disaster Relief Employment

Eligibility

  • Temporarily or permanently laid off as a consequence of the disaster
  • A dislocated worker as defined at 29 USC 3102(3)(15)
  • A long-term unemployed worker
  • A self-employed individual who became unemployed or significantly underemployed as a result of the disaster
