The West Broadway Education and Career Center, a new service center focused on providing education and workforce development opportunities and health services in one North Minneapolis location, is expected to open next summer.
The West Broadway Education and Career Center is a unique and innovative strategy that will put workforce, health and education services under the same roof, said DEED Deputy Commissioner Jeremy Hanson Willis. This facility will be a community gathering place that helps Minneapolis residents get the support they need for fulfilling careers.
The
North Minneapolis WorkForce Center will be the main anchor tenant. Project partners Minneapolis Public Schools and Minneapolis Community and Technical College will offer students the opportunity to complete high school courses while earning credits toward a college degree. North Point Health and Wellness Center, a North Minneapolis mental health and dental services provider, and retail space will also be included at the two-story 800 West Broadway location.
For public-transportation-oriented job seekers and other customers, the West Broadway Education and Career Center is located centrally on the 14 and 30 and near the 5 and 22 Metro Transit bus lines. Onsite parking will be available for those who have disabilities.
If you're interested in hearing more about the project or getting involved, a public meeting will be held 6:30-8 p.m., Tues., March 31 at the
Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway, Minneapolis.
